World Resorts Miami – The New Neighbors


World Resorts Miami is only a few years away from reality – with or without the State’s approval of a casino operation. This $3BB development in Downtown Miami is potentially one of the biggest “shots in the arm” that can ever happen in Miami. Sure, now the big ol’ trucks will roll past the Casino thanks to the new tunnel, but we hope that won’t upset our world visitors.

If we think that Miami is a tourist destination now – this will seal the deal with nearly incomprehensible impact on our community. These photos are captured from the video above, showing the development from various perspectives. Of course everyone at the Venetia is curious just how this gigantic development will proceed without affecting our quality of life, ensnarling traffic and potentially covering our balconies with extensive dust and debris. All these issues and more concern Venetia residents, especially those who look over the Herald today – which will be going away for a completely new view. A Town Hall meeting with representatives of the Genting development company will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 – so plan to attend! Continue reading

DMV Services at Clark Center on June 16

DMV VisitSometimes getting out to one of the DMV offices can be a pain, plus you need an appointment, there are tons of people and lines, you know. Well, in order to better serve the downtown public, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will offer its services at the Stephen P. Clark Center on Thursday, June 16 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

For anyone who is planning to come, it’s very important you review the new documentation guidelines which were implemented in January 2010. There are not many challenges, just need to ensure you don’t have to go home to get anything once you get to the DMV. Continue reading
