Florida State Bill 995 makes many changes to the current Condominium Law in it’s passing into Law. It removes the requirement for windstorm insurance and from prohibiting Associations from forbidding the attachment of religious items on front doors.
In addition, a person who has been convicted of a violent crime, sexual offense or crime or moral turpitude from serving as a Board member, whether or not they have had their rights restored.

Representative Julio Robiana of Miami said, “..there are those bad apples, and I think this tweaking of the law and what we are doing here will make living in an Association environment a much better situation.”
Additional changes were also made and two further discussion sessions are scheduled for even more changes ahead.
The second half of this clip also details new kiosks available at the Miami City Hall which provide access to all online services, plus various legal resources. While no additional services beyond those available online exist - and if hanging out in City Hall is your thing - then have fun!
