Venetia is to be a New Home to Miami International University!

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with Miami International University to rent much of the remaining Mezzanine second floor commercial space. This is going to bring in needed income at a full, fair market rate to the Association for 10 months, plus bring equally valuable activity, energy and occupancy to the remaining quiet, “abandoned” areas of  our commercial floor, increasing its value in the process.

It is the opinion of the Board of Directors that this rental will not cause any restraints upon future possible sale due to the fact that the rental will require no architectural modification, and initially at least is for just a 10 month period (though it could become longer term, if it works out for the parties). We are delighted to welcome our new occupants to the Venetia. Read more…

Associations Get Screwed - Unless Law is Changed…

Hi,

I’ve started a petition to ask the Governor and Florida Legislature for relief from the 1% rule which limits the amount that associations are able to collect when a condominium unit is foreclosured by a bank or first mortgagee. http://www.petitiononline.com/condolaw/petition.html . My condo and thousands of others are being financially drained by the massive foreclosure crisis. When the apartment next door is empty, I have to pay for their failure to pay in order to keep the hallway lights on.

The more bombarded Tallahassee is, the greater our chance of getting the attention and help we need. Therefore, I hope you will forward this petition URL to everyone you know in Florida. After all, this economic disaster will affect all Florida residents, whether condo owners or not and we, not the banks and mortgage companies, are the voters.

This is a one-time email direct from me to you. Your address is not being put on any list, nor forwarded to anyone else. If you forward it, please blind copy everyone on your list so that their addresses will not be forwarded either.

Please click on http://www.petitiononline.com/condolaw/petition.html. It will only take a moment to add your name.

Thank you!
Stacey
