Security Needs for 2008
As someone that is running for the board and having the experience in the U.S Air Force as a security specialist I intend to make the security issue our number one priority in this building. I would like to address some issues to the re-activated and newly appointed security committee. I would like to commend Joey Corona which I have spoken in detail recently about security in this building for providing the newly formed security committee with his suggestions.
Here are some suggestions that I advised our current board president about last year and some new things that need to be addressed this year.
2007 Suggestions
I believe that in addition to the security company doing it’s job we should have a suggestion box where residents of our building could address their security issues with more frequency and we could pull better statistics on any ongoing security issues. Also our main priority is the safety of our residents and of our building. It is a deterrent if we man the entrance of this building with a guard 24/7. A golf cart with the word SECURITY will inform anyone entering this building that our attitude is serious and that their security is our number one priority. Also we should create an alliance with the local law enforcement station which will allow us to address any of our concerns or intelligence reports to a direct source. Technology is also a supporting technique that can be applied at all entry points of our building to constantly monitor for any hostile entries. If we respond to the residents concerns in a timely manner we will have a force of residents eager to uphold tight security at all times. Continue reading

Security Committee Meeting Summary

This was a highly productive meeting, in which the major security problems at the Venetia were identified and discussed in detail, and the Committee members all presented good, even some great, ideas. Continue reading
